Toner, the absolute benefactor!

Facial toners are an essential part of facial care. Their main role is to regulate and restore the healthy pH of the skin. Our skin feels really good at a pH of about 5-5,5. (Skin pH tells you a lot about the condition of your skin). At this slightly acidic pH, our protective acid mantle is able to form a good shield against external influences. It also plays a key role in the epidermis's defence system by maintaining an optimal, slightly acidic environment, contributing to the well-being of the skin's natural microbiome. In this way, it prevents the proliferation of bacteria and neutralises aggressive substances that attack the skin.

For the facial toner almost 1.618 we have selected two NMF - natural moisturising components:

• Sodium PCA: Chemically, the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid. This small amino acid derivative plays an important role in maintaining skin moisture. It is activated in the skin as pyroglutamic acid. Thanks to its excellent hygroscopic effect, it is able to bind and absorb moisture on the skin. Another plus is that it is non-irritating and non-allergenic.

• Betaine: Known chemically as trimethylglycine, it is a simple ammonium salt originally derived from sugar beets, but can now be extracted from a variety of plants. Because of its favourable chemical structure, it can form hydrogen bonds with water and other molecules. As a humectant, it prevents excessive evaporation of water from the skin and increases the feeling of hydration. It is particularly beneficial for sensitive skin as betaine is able to prevent or reduce unpleasant reactions to other irritants.
